Hi, Lovelies.

I’m not going to lie. This series has been a challenge for me. I haven’t read that many Christmas books and I’m fumbling here. I mean yes, there are lots of Holiday books if you’re looking, but I’m in the middle of nowhere and I’m broke. Also, reading a book a day so you can write about it is a lot.

But I promised you 12 books until Christmas and have already disappointed with making Day 2 and 3 being the same book. So today, we’re doing The Lion, The Witch, And the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis.

A Summary

The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe follows the Pevensie’s siblings, Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy. Lucy stumbles through a Wardrobe into a different world called Narnia. With the help of her siblings and a regal Lion, they save the land from the White Witch. Along the way, they make good friends like Mr. Tummus, and the Beaver family. , discover their inner strength, and learn to trust in Aslan/Jesus.

What is more Christmassy than having Santa Claus showing up to give you gifts? The book is set in a beautiful wintery scenery with soft snow and pretty icicles. Additionally, it focuses on the message of Jesus. And isn’t that what this season is about? Celebrating the birth of our Savior.

My Take

I can’t pinpoint exactly when I read this book, but I know I was pretty young. And yet, this book is timeless. The message in it is powerful to this day and it enchants children and adults alike. I’ll be honest, I haven’t read the other books in the series, only this one, Prince Caspian, and The Magician’s Nephew. But I highly recommend reading all of C.S. Lewis’ books. He was not only a talented writer, but also a role model Christian.

It truly is a perfect Christmas book and I’m shocked that I didn’t think about it before now. With its winter setting, cameo of Santa Claus, and focus on Jesus, it really couldn’t be any more Christmassy.

Thanks for Reading

Well, that’s it for today, Lovelies. Check back in with me tomorrow.
